Dr Prabhashini Kamalanathan
General Practitioner
MBBS FRACGP
Dr Prabha chose a career in general practice because of a genuine passion for helping people and making a meaningful difference in their lives. For her, medicine is more than a profession—it’s a form of service. She finds joy in supporting patients on their health journey and feels rewarded by the simple moments when someone leaves her room feeling lighter, more hopeful, and reassured.
Her particular interest lies in preventative medicine—detecting health issues before symptoms appear and guiding patients to make small, lasting lifestyle changes that improve their wellbeing over time. She also has a strong focus on mental health care, creating a calm and supportive environment where patients feel listened to, respected, and treated with genuine compassion.
Outside of medicine, Dr Prabha leads a mindful and balanced lifestyle. She enjoys swimming, walking in nature, watching movies, exploring spirituality, and, of course, good food. She values living in the moment and taking life as it comes.
Giving back to the community is also close to her heart. Since her early years as a doctor in Sri Lanka, she has been dedicated to mentoring disadvantaged children and supporting people in need. Over the years, she has helped fund surgeries and rehabilitation for patients who otherwise wouldn’t have had access to care—something she considers a quiet but deeply important part of who she is
